Duffield Removals does house clearance and takes away household and commercial waste across Mid Wales and Powys, Cheshire, Wrexham, North Wales, the Wirral and Shropshire, in our own vans and under our own upper-tier waste carrier registration, CBDU13412, held by Paul Duffield. Send photos of what needs to go, and we come back with a quote made up of our labour time and a waste charge by weight. A few boxes that have sat in the loft for years, a full garage, an office being emptied or a house after a bereavement: the process is the same, and what can be donated goes to local charities.
What we take away
- Domestic general waste: the things left over after a clear-out, bulky items, the contents of a shed
- Property clearances, from one room to a whole house
- Commercial and office clearances: desks, chairs, filing, shop fittings
- End-of-tenancy clearances for private landlords and letting agents
- Loft and garage clear-outs
House clearance in Chester
If the property is in Chester or the villages around it, our house clearance in Chester page covers how the price is worked out, what happens after a bereavement, and the questions people ask most, such as whether a charity will clear a house for free.
Clearances in Mid Wales and Powys
Our Mid Wales vans clear houses, farmhouses and outbuildings across Powys: Newtown, Llanidloes, Rhayader, Llandrindod Wells, Welshpool and the villages between. Our page on house clearance in Powys and Mid Wales explains how a clearance there is priced, and how we work with families who live away.
What makes up the price of a clearance?
Two charges. The first is our crew's time on the job, counted door to door, so it includes driving the load to the tip and back. The second is the tip's charge for the waste itself, which goes by weight and is settled once the loaded van has been weighed in. Items that a charity or a new owner will take never reach the scales, so we set those aside first. The rest is disposed of safely at a commercial recycling centre.
Photos are the quickest way to a quote. Send one of each room, the loft, the garage and anything in the garden to our WhatsApp on 07904 125775, with the postcode, and say what is staying.
Why does a waste carrier licence matter?
Anyone who carries other people's waste for money has to be registered as a waste carrier, with the Environment Agency in England or Natural Resources Wales in Wales. Ours is CBDU13412, held by Paul Duffield, who runs the business, and our vans carry the words House Clearance & Waste Disposal on the side. The law also puts a duty on the householder: if you hand waste to someone who is not registered and it is fly-tipped, you can be fined. Ask any carrier for their registration number and a copy of it; our house clearance in Chester page says what to check with us.
We receive a waste transfer note for every waste job we do. We keep all of them, and a customer who wants a copy only has to ask.
Clearance and a move together
Plenty of clearances happen in the same week as a move. Quoting the move and the clearance together means one booking, and a crew who know which pile is going to the new house and which is not.
