Who runs Duffield Removals?
Paul Duffield set up Duffield Removals in 2018. Leanne Hunt joined him in 2020, and since then the two of us have run the business together. Every one of our landlines rings through to us, and our reviews name Paul and his team, and sometimes the two of us together. There are two companies behind the name, one for removals and one for storage, but to you it is simply Duffield Removals.
The team and the fleet
We are a team of 11 (September 2026), and every van is ours: a fleet of 8 Luton box vans. The ones in our photographs are Renault Master, Vauxhall Movano and Mercedes Sprinter Lutons, in our blue livery with "Removals, House Clearance & Waste Disposal" on the side. A bigger house can have two or three of our vans on the same day.
How we look after a move
This is what our own photographs of our jobs show, and what you can expect to see on the day:
- Grey felt blankets over the furniture, and quilted covers for mattresses and wardrobes
- Stretch wrap and bubble wrap over tables, chairs, sofas and anything with a finish that marks
- Wardrobe cartons, so clothes travel hanging on a rail
- Carpet protection film on stairs and landings
- Ratchet straps and load bars in the vans to hold the load in place
- Boxes numbered and labelled by room, so they go straight to the right room at the other end
We take beds and furniture apart and put them back together at the new house when that is agreed with you beforehand, with the parts labelled. We move upright pianos, stretch-wrapped and strapped upright in the van, and baby grands by arrangement. Anything we have not agreed in advance, we talk to you about first.

Where are we based?
- Vans based in Chester, serving Chester, Cheshire, North Wales, the Wirral, Wrexham and Shropshire.
- Vans based in Mid Wales, serving Newtown, Llanidloes, Rhayader, Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells and the whole of Powys.
- Storage yards at Rhayader and Chester. The address is given when you enquire, and visits are by arrangement so someone is there to meet you.

In the community
Every year we give our time and our vans to Hospice of the Good Shepherd's Christmas tree collection in Chester, one of our favourite days of the year. Leanne goes out on the round with the crew, collecting the trees. Hospice of the Good Shepherd thanked us by name on LinkedIn in January 2025, alongside its other tree collection volunteers. In the post, the hospice says the volunteers "collected thousands of trees" and that this helped it "raise over £50,000".
