How is a house clearance priced?
A house clearance with Duffield Removals is priced in two parts: labour time and a waste charge. There is no fixed price list, because a single garage and a full three-bed house differ in both the hours and the weight.
- Labour time: the hours our crew spends emptying the property, including the round trip to the tip. A ground-floor bungalow with a drive takes less time than a second-floor flat in the city centre.
- Donated first: before anything goes for waste, we donate or rehome every item we can, through local charities wherever they will take it.
- Waste charge: what is left is charged by weight at the tip, a commercial recycling centre, and the weight is confirmed when the van is weighed in.
- Your quote: send photos of each room, the loft and the garage on WhatsApp to 07904 125775, with the postcode.
If something in the house is to be kept, sold or collected by family, tell us before the day and we leave it where it is.

Before you let anyone take your waste away, check that they are registered: if waste you hand over ends up fly-tipped, you can be fined too. Anyone who carries other people's waste for money has to be registered as a waste carrier, with the Environment Agency in England or Natural Resources Wales in Wales.
