Duffield Removals provides house removals from Chester and Mid Wales, covering Cheshire, North Wales, the Wirral, Shropshire and Powys, with long-distance removals anywhere in the UK. We welcome moves of all sizes, from smaller properties to large family homes, with larger house moves forming much of our work. Every move includes a written estimate from Paul or Leanne, our own vans and crew, goods in transit insurance up to £120,000, and the choice to pack yourself or leave the packing to us.
How a move with us works
How do we provide a quote? Fill out our quick and easy quote request form, and you will receive a detailed email with our options for getting an estimate: a home survey, a list of contents, photos or videos. Confirm any additional services if required, such as waste clearance, a packing service, dismantling and reassembly, or storage. We then calculate your volume, assess your requirements and provide a detailed estimate.
On moving day, our crew arrives within the agreed time window, protects floors and door frames, then wraps and loads your belongings carefully, room by room. At your new home, we unload everything where you want it, reassemble beds and place labelled boxes in the correct rooms.
What is included
- A written estimate from Paul or Leanne, clearly setting out what is and isn't included
- Our own removal vans and experienced crew
- Specialist removal covers and blankets, with additional protection and export wrapping available on request
- Dismantling and reassembly of beds, wardrobes and dining tables when discussed and agreed in advance
- Goods in transit insurance up to £120,000
What do our terms say about the day?
Our full terms and conditions are provided with every estimate and are also available on our website. Here are the points customers ask about most, in plain English:
- Your written estimate is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued.
- Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. Moves requested at weekends, on bank holidays or outside these hours may cost more; any additional charges will be set out in your estimate.
- Furniture is dismantled and reassembled only where this has been discussed and agreed in advance. Appliances must be disconnected and reconnected by a suitably qualified person and are not handled by our removal crew.
- Payment must be made in full and cleared on or before the morning of your move.
Insured on every move
Your things are covered by our goods in transit insurance, up to £120,000, while we carry them.
Local moves in Chester and Cheshire
Every house move is different, so we plan the crew, vehicles and timings around the size and requirements of your move.
As a Chester-based removal company, we know the practicalities of moving around areas such as Handbridge, Hoole and Chester city centre, where access, parking and restricted streets can all need extra planning. We consider these details when preparing your estimate, rather than leaving them until moving day.
From our Chester base, we provide house removals across Cheshire, including Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Tarporley, Northwich, Nantwich and Crewe, as well as North Wales, including Deeside, Mold, Wrexham and the coast.
Moving further than Cheshire and Wales
We take on house moves of all sizes anywhere in the UK, whether you're moving to or from Chester, Cheshire, Mid Wales or further afield. Our experienced team regularly handles long-distance removals across the country. Take a look at our Google reviews to see what customers have said about their long-distance moves with us.
If your moving dates don't line up, we can arrange storage between properties. This may be at one of our own storage facilities or, where needed, through our trusted connections within the storage industry.
Find out more about how we plan moves over longer distances on our long-distance removals page.
Pianos
We move upright pianos, with baby grand pianos moved by prior arrangement. Each piano is professionally prepared, protected and securely positioned for transport, with careful consideration given to its size, weight and the access at both properties.
When requesting an estimate, let us know the make and type of piano and any access considerations, such as stairs, steps, narrow hallways or restricted entrances. This allows us to assess the move properly and plan the safest and most appropriate way to move your piano.
Your packing options
You can choose to pack your belongings yourself or leave some or all of the packing to us. We offer full and part packing services, including packing fragile and breakable items, tailored to the needs of your move.
If you prefer to pack yourself, you're welcome to use your own packing materials or purchase boxes and packing materials from us.
Our packing service page explains the different options available and how we prepare and protect your belongings for moving.
What our customers say
